Please click here for the agenda for a nutrition workshop that is being held in partnership with BAPEN (the British Association for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition) for commissioners and providers in the Midlands and East region.

The aim of the workshop is to raise awareness of the importance of improving nutritional care, disseminate the NHS England commissioning guidance on commissioning excellent nutritional care, share best practice and the tools available to implement the guidance and to discuss any support required across the region to implement best practice.

The event is being supported by the Health Foundation and is designed to support the system to deliver significant financial savings as well as improving patient care and outcomes. The programme has been informed by the recent NIHR and BAPEN report on the costs of malnutrition and the economic analysis demonstrating the benefits in terms of reductions in length of stay and admission avoidance when good nutritional care is delivered.

If you are personally unable to join the workshop please ensure senior representation from your organisation. As part of the event we will discuss how we can best use the local networks to support and disseminate this work further.

Ahead of the event, we would also be grateful if you would complete the below survey as a baseline - please note only one survey per hospital so could you check if anyone else has completed for your trust before doing so.
